Tripura

Tripura is India's bamboo state. Unakoti's tea gardens (its ODOP product) feed the Assam-adjacent tea economy; South Tripura processes cashew; and the GI-listed Matabari Peda rounds out a specialty-foods portfolio suited to diaspora and gourmet channels.

The Bangladesh corridor

Tripura's logistics story is its border. Agartala sits minutes from the Akhaura integrated check post into Bangladesh, giving cargo access to Chittagong port — often a shorter route to the sea than hauling across India to Kolkata. For northeastern sourcing, that corridor changes the freight math entirely.
